Low Fat Turkey Doner Kebab
Delicious yummy Doner Kebab, without the waistline going with it!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon Rapeseed/Vegetable oil
- 400g/14oz lean turkey mince
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°c fan
In a large mixing bowl, add all you ingredients and mix well together, I go in by hand and mushed it all to get it thoroughly mixed
Place mixture into a lightly oiled loaf tin
Push down mixture with the back of a metal tablespoon to ensure there are no air bubbles, leave an inch of space at one of the ends (this will allow any remaining fat to run into so it can be poured away when cooked)
Place in the centre of your preheated oven for 30-35 minutes
Remove from oven and pour away any liquid fat found in the small gap you left
Leave to cool for 5 minutes, then turn out on to a cutting board
With a sharp knife cut in long strips and place in to you prepared flatbread/pitta
Dress how you like it, I like to have crisp Iceberg lettuce, onions and a splash of my Chilli Mayo
Notes
Serve in a warmed flatbread with Fresh crispy salad, red onion relish and low fat Peri Peri Mayo
